This project affirms why Jay Rouse is a longstanding favorite arranger of many worship pastors. First, several songs are arranged with choir only throughout. Second, he thoughtfully considers vocal ranges and rhythms while delivering a captivating presentation. Note that optional narration on some of the songs adds yet another layer of dramatic effect. The song selection is crucial, and this project ticks all the right boxes. Here I Stand, a brand-new song by Bill and Gloria Gaither, is nothing short of anointed as it presents the heart of the gospel message. Another new Gaither song, This is the Place, is perfect for a sanctuary building dedication or a homecoming Sunday service. Everlasting Medley is a mash-up of memory lane worship songs that your congregation knows, loves, and are ready to belt out along with your choir. Mary's Song is new for Christmas by Lindsey Haugen, a worship staff member of Crossings Community, the church partnering with us in publishing the project. Crossing Community Church is a tower of the gospel in word and music on the open plains of Oklahoma City. So much so that Jay Rouse pulled up stakes in Indiana and joined the CCC staff while this project was in creation. All the vocals on the recording are performed by ministry members at the church, including the familiar sounds of Sandi Patty on It Takes the Highest Heaven. These are just a few of the highlights of this great new worship collection.
